Dagmar Amtmann, PhD is a Research Professor at the University of Washington (UW), Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and the Principal Investigator of the UW Center on Outcomes Research in Rehabilitation (UWCORR) that houses projects related to measuring of health outcomes. She is a health outcomes researcher and the Principal Investigator of the National Data and Statistical Center for the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) funded Burn Model System and the NIDILRR training grant on outcomes research in rehabilitation. She leads the outcomes measurement core of the NIH funded outcomes research in prosthetic and orthotics, and the NIDILRR funded research and training center on Healthy Aging with a Disability. During the last 20 years, she has been involved in a number of federally funded projects. Her roles have included providing statistical support for qualitative and quantitative research, using modern psychometric methods to develop item banks, and running large multi-center studies. She also teaches graduate level health outcomes measurement courses, and was the Principal Investigator for PROMIS 1 primary research site (2004-2010) that included a multi-site validation study of the PROMIS instruments with individuals with back pain, during which she led the development of several PROMIS pain item banks.
